The 8 Aspects of Guru Rinpoche ~ Cloth Print
This is a rather large (28" X 36") and complex silkscreened cotton print. Padmasambhava, the renowned saint of the eighth century, was a central figure in shaping Buddhism's history in Tibet. Revered as the second Buddha, Guru Rinpoche (Precious Guru) conquered the local deities and demons of Tibet and bound them by oath to become guardians of Buddhism. This print depicts Guru Rinpoche surrounded by his eight manifestations, each relating to a different portion of his life. Also shown in this finely detailed print are the eight great Wisdom Holders and Padma-sambhava's 25 major disciples. The cotton print is very well drawn and printed with clear details.
