Shakyamuni Buddha Cloth Print with Fabric Trim
This 14" X 21" cotton print with a 2" double folded cloth border depicts Sakyamuni, the Buddha of the present age, is depicted at the moment of his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. He is shown in the "earth touching mudra" - calling the earth to witness his liberation. Surrounding him are bodhisattvas representing the three main aspects of enlightened mind: Vajrapani, in the form of a garuda, symbolizing the power of awakened mind: Avalokiteshvara who embodies compassion : and Manjushri, the embodiment of wisdom.
